That my children will one day learn from mentors I helped shape. That the research and systems I poured myself into will grow in other hands — until something in that chain saves a life, eases a pain, or opens a door someone almost lost.And when I'm no longer here, I hope the work doesn't end with me. I hope it quietly inherits itself, from one person to the next, still doing good long after I'm gone.
